2012 improvement meme

Ah, 2012, you have been very, very good to me.

Got a bit firmer grasp of anatomy and proportions (it comes easier to me now at least), I finally grasped the basics of more detailed lightning (goodbye weird omnipotent light source!), and I also started dabbling a bit in more lineless work by the end of the year, which I’m very excited to continue experimenting with.

Overall a much more varied year than I’ve experienced thus far!

Also I think this marks the 7th year since I picked up a pencil and started drawing consistently. Weird to think that I’ve been drawing for so long!

Hopes for improvement in 2013 (or plans for fields of study at least); anatomy (muscle groups in particular - I’ll be in med school by then so it should come in handy in my studies as well!), stronger colours (this is something I’ve been meaning to work on for years but I never seem to rid myself of my fondness for soft colour schemes..), and above all; I hope to produce more drawings! Looking through my archive I’ve finished and uploaded roughly 38 drawings this year. Many of them are small ones though.

I was very excited to see others’ versions of this meme and decided to make one now the year is over.

(Haha also, 8/12 is Sherlock, 3 is fanart of other fandoms and only 1 is non-fandom related... Compared to last years that had 8 non-fanart related, 2 Sherlock fanarts and 2 fanarts of other fandoms)
